Tamar Hurvitz Livne
Tamar Hurvitz Livne was born in Kibbutz Ein HaHoresh and is currently a community member in Kibbutz Kabri. Director of the Kabri Gallery since 2021. Hurvitz Livne is a curator, artist, and art researcher. In addition, she is a doctoral candidate at the School of Jewish Studies and Archaeology at Tel Aviv University. Her areas of expertise are visual culture, Israeli art, traditional crafts, Jewish studies, sculpture, and museum education. For her latest research – “The British Connection in the Life and Work of the Artist Avraham Melnikov 1918–1948” – she won the Dov Sadan Prize for Literature and a research award from the Jabotinsky Institute. Her current research focuses on visual culture during the British Mandate in Israel. She acquired her professional training during nineteen years of work at the Open Air Museum in Tefen as an assistant curator and director of the education department. She is a mother of three and a volleyball coach.
