Three years after the events of October 7, the exhibition “Migatory Schooling”—originally presented at the Musrara Gallery in Jerusalem in 2024—continues its journey to the Kabri Gallery. Presenting the project in the heart of a region that was, and remains, part of the front-line and evacuation zones imbues the exhibition with renewed significance as living testimony and an educational-artistic document of a pivotal moment. Initiated by the Naggar School of Art and Society (Musrara) in collaboration with the Trump Foundation for Excellence in Education, the project showcases works by artists who, during the war’s early months, set out to document—using photography, video, text, and sound—the alternative learning centers established for communities evacuated from their homes in the south and north.
Observing transient spaces—from hotel lobbies and shelters to conference halls—the works offer a penetrating look at impermanence, trauma, and solidarity, viewed both through the direct gaze at children and teaching staff and through the repurposed architecture.
Thought time, the exhibition highlights art’s humanistic role as a vehicle for bearing witness and exercising social responsibility, while offering a space to re-examine the upheavals experienced by the education system, the figure of the teacher, and the values ​​that will shape our children’s future.
